Noticed A Bean Sized Knot On Left Side Of Neck

ok ty. I took a had hit to the upper forehead 4 hours ago. walked into the not quite fully open garage door. raised a bean sized knot, left me with a sore neck and a frown. Now my stomach is upset, headache (treated with asprin 750mg) sensitive to light and generally sleepy. do i need to go to a doctor for observation? How can treat myself through the night as I can see my GP tomorrow if needed? thanks for your input. Marvin

Hi, thanks for asking from HCM.


I can understand your concern. It is good that you are conscious, oriented, no vomiting, no bleed. You can treat headache, knot and upset stomach at home by following few tips

: Keep head at higher level than chest
: You can take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium with antacid like Pantoprazole after proper prescription.
: You can take syrup Aluminium hydroxide with Magnesium to relieve stomach pain after proper prescription.
: Apply icepacks at knot site.
: In case of vomiting, loss of consciousness, bleed through nose/ear/throat, severe headache not responding to painkiller, kindly consult ER as soon as possible. You need CT head to rule out bleed or fracture. Further treatment will be decided after report.
: Avoid painkiller which can cause sedation like morphine, tramadol.

Hope it will help you. Still no relief, consult doctor or you can ask question.
