White flakes from a painful ear usually due to a infected foreign body or debris coming from a fungal infection. In an unusual situation it may be due to a disease called Cholesteatoma which is a somewhat not good condition of ear, but this takes months to develop and associated with foul smelling scanty discharge from the ear.
