Noticed Dark Discharge And Nauseous

Hi I am 29 years old. Here s my dilemma I have taken the pill Ava all last year, I went off the pill on Jan 10 this year, and am still having unprotected sex with my long term partner. I had a period 16-21 January, it was brown discharge! I went back on the pill Ava on feb 6th, except I forgot my pill on the 18 & 19 march, and on the 20th march dark brown stringy mucus like started, and is still coming out, it s like a egg mucus or lining! I took two pregnancy tests on 21st march, both negative! I have been very nauceus early mornings, afternoons and late at night! What could be happening?

Hi,
There are two possibilities in the current scenario. Firstly, you could be experiencing a breakthrough bleed since you missed two pills in a row. Secondly, you could be experiencing some ovulation bleed or discharge of some old blood as indicated by the brownish color. Urine pregnancy tests do not help in these circumstances and you should go for the serum beta-hCG titre estimates to clarify the situation along with a trans-vaginal sonogram. Hope this helps.
