Numbness & Feeling Of Wetness And Coldness In 1 Leg And Reduced Vision In 1 Eye With Negative MS Test.

I have a feeling in one leg that it is wet and cold, have had the sensation for 2 months. Leg is also numb and I have poor sensation in it. Have been investigated for MS due to this numbness and deterioration of my vision in one eye, but the MRI and lumbar puncture were negative for MS. This numbness is very debilitating, and it has been liike this for two solid months with no respite.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having numbness and coldness associated with reduced vision in one eye.
Since the investigations for Multiple sclerosis like MRI have come negative no need to worry about multiple sclerosis.
Reduced vision in eyes is seen in optic neuritis and this condition will be sudden in onset.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you

Ophthalmologist Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash's  Response
Only two reasons canbe linked. Diabetis spinalchod injury. All investigation can becomleted. Diabetis can give rise to ctaract, retinopathy. Vision tobe recorded, Fundus examination to exclude cataract and retinopathy. As such it may be bilateral. Blood sugar and glycolated haemoglobin should bedone. If positive treatment should be started. MRI lumbo sacral spine will ruleout spinal involvment. Neurologist may be consulted.
