Numbness In Leg. MRI Done. What Does Report Mean? Require Surgery Or Medication?
Hi My Name is Ranjit. 30 M. From past one week I am facing slight numbness in my left leg. As per Doctor I have gone through MRI and Report as follows. 1. Mild posetero-central disc Protrusion at L4-L5 level indenting thecal sac. 2. Annular Tear with right paracentral focal disc protrusion at L5-S1 level indenting thecal sac and right traversing S1 nerve root. 3. T2 Screening of dorsal spine reveals:- Tiny Schmorl's node in the inferior end plate of D6, D7, D8, D9 And D10 Vetebrae. Rest of the dorsal spine appears normal. Please advice me on the above finding of MRI . Do I require surgery or simple medication and bed rest enough.
if it is a recent onset then maybe bed rest and lumbar traction for 3 weeks and anti-inflammatory analgesics and neurobion injections should help. traction to both lower limbs will increase disc space and immobilization shalll give disc healing. After 3 weeks further course of treatment can be decided
