On And Off Painful Bump On Roof Of Mouth With Swollen Lymph Node On Neck. What Could It Be?

I have a bump that comes and goes on the right side roof of my mouth. It is painful while there, but is not affected by change in temperature and pressure helps it. My ear and head hurt on that side as well and there is a swollen lymph node in my neck on that side only. What could this be?

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding bump on the roof of your mouth with pressure in the ear and enlarge lymph nodes on the same side of neck.

As per your clinical history it appears as you are having mass in your nasopharynx which is moving up and down and it is obstructing the opening of eustachian tube leading to pressure in the ear and head of same side. Enlarge lymph nodes in the neck is suggestive of nasopharyngeal pathology.

To manage it one should do these basic treatment-

1- C.T. Scan of paranasal sinuses.

2- FNAC from neck node.

3- Nasopharyngoscopy to visualize the post nasal space and if any growth is found than biopsy should be taken to confirm the pathological nature of lesion for future planing of treatment.

Regards.
