On Medication For Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss. Hearing Improved But Cannot Bear The Tinnitus. Subside With Time?
I have SSNHL, the MD ENT put me on Prednisone, today Sunday was my 3 day taking the drug, 60mg x 3 days so far..as this is the 3rd day I have noticed my hearing has improved as I close the good ear L ear I can now hear the TV better and speech....however I am still getting the high Pitched Tinnitus with it that does not seem to go away and gets higher with loud noise .. I can live with the hearing loss, but not the tinnitus..with it subside with time? Thank you for any suggestions , John

Your treatment history is favoring allergic pathology going on and as you got relief in hearing you will also get relief in tinnitus after some time. Usually such cases improves in 2 to 4 weeks, but if after that you feel any problem of tinnitus than you may try -

I have gone through query regarding sudden sensorineural hearing loss with tinnitus, though you getting relief from medical treatment with steroid as far as hearing is concerned but tinnitus is still there. Your treatment history is favoring allergic pathology going on and as you got relief in hearing you will also get relief in tinnitus after some time. Usually such cases improves in 2 to 4 weeks, but if after that you feel any problem of tinnitus than you may try - (a) Gincobilova. (b) Caroverine. (c) Mecobalamine. These above are well known anti tinnitus remedies. Regards
