On Pill. Having Spotting. Implantation Bleeding Or Caused By Estrogen In Pill?
Hi.. I m 16 and I have been on the pill for about 4 months now. usually i always get my period right when the little peach pills start, but about 3 days ago i had some spotting ( it was brown). It was darker today and there was more of it, i am sexually active, but I don t think that it is a sign of implantation bleeding . I know that sometimes the estrogen levels on the pill can start to waver and you get break through bleeding, is that what it could be ....? Thank you for your time.
Birth control pills are more than 99.5% effective in prevention of unwanted pregnancy if you take regularly on scheduled time.
Here, you should undergo one blood test for beta HCG level initially to rule out product of conception or implantation bleeding which is mostly associated with brown spotting.
Other reasons are hormonal imbalance associated with pill, vaginal infection with co-existence of stress/ anxiety, thyroid disorder, irregular diet habit, psychological factor etc.
Treatment depends on underlying etiology. Consult with your gynecologist for relevant investigations & suggestive measures.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet with iron supplements, control body wt, maintain genital hygiene properly and take proper sleep.
Be well & take care.
