my husband has tuberculosis treztment started from last 5 months time time to x ray was done after 3 months doctor reduce his medicine but now old opacities are clear but new opacity is seen in upper zone t is because of reduced medcine but now he is feeling perfect no fevere very light cough means feeling better than past condition doc is saying dont worry his esr level is also reduced my doc is also m.d

Hi,
Thanks for visiting HCM.
Tuberculosis treatment often lead to symptomatic and radiological resolution along with decreasing ESR.
If he has taken full course of six months and improvement is there, he might have got cured. On chest x-ray old lesion will heal and may be replaced by fibrosis. So ask your doctor if it is something like fibrosis. And must go for one sputum for acid fast bacilli examination to be declared cure. If he comes sputum positive, may need a second course with injectable for first two month. and a total duration of 8 months...
