Open And Oozing Wound. Sustained An Injury And Undergoing Treatment. Infection?
On September 17th, I fell while getting on a bus and hit my knee on the street concrete. Since then then I had my appointment with my podiatrist, who cleaned it and advised me to go to my PCP. I first went to the Urgent Care Unit who left me feeling confused. I then went to my PCP who advised me to either go to the hospital or get a visiting nurse. It was a deep gash, almost to the bone. Ihave been having a visiting since then and while the wound seems to to be getting smaller, it is still open and oozes somewhat. They tell me it is not infected. Should I go to a wound doctor the nurse told me they would only do what they are doing. Thank you My e-mail is waxy YYYY@YYYY

In such cases careful dressing and cleaning is very important and prevent any infection as it can delay the healing and make a bad scar.
You can visit a plastic surgeon to see if wound it big and requires any skin grafting. Otherwise wound gets smaller and finally closes with scar tissue.
The good thing is that your wound is not infected and it is healing.
