Outbreak Of Acne On Cheeks, Bumps On Lips. What Are They?
Hi, my name is Anthony and I'm 23 years old. I've recently had a pretty vicious outbreak of acne on my cheeks, nothing spreading above the eyes however. This is not my concern at the moment though it does plague me every day. My concern is actually these bumps on my lips, more specifically the ones in the corners of my mouth. I hope to god it's not Hsv1 or anything but I'm very, very worried. They seem to be relatively small and are mostly only noticeable to myself when I stretch my lips. I've had them for a while but because of my recent paranoia I can't tell if their numbers are increasing or not. They are slightly raised and clear, some even have a little dark spot in the middle, quite similar to a black head or something. Today I got so fed up that I tried to pop one and it just became red and slightly inflamed. There is no burning or itching that comes with these though. What could they be?
Acyclovir cream may be applied on the lesions till recovery.
I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.

Outbreak Of Acne On Cheeks, Bumps On Lips. What Are They?
Hi, The lesions on corner of lips may be herpes simplex labialis. It is viral infection..caused by HSV virus mostly type 1. It is relapsing condition and remains localised. Anxiety and worries might precipitate the disease. Immunocompromised conditions are to be ruled out by blood tests. Antiviral like acyclovir in proper dose may be taken for long time. Immunobusters like levamisole may be taken. Acyclovir cream may be applied on the lesions till recovery. I hope you got my answer. Thanks. Dr. Ilyas Patel MD
