Overweight And Had Complete Hysterectomy. Diagnosed With Herpes. Having Hypothyroidism And Took Synthroid. Itchiness. Concerned?

I am 48, 5'4" and overweight at 215 lbs. I had a complete hysterectomy in Dec of 2010, and was diagnosed with herpes in the summer of 2011. I have hypothyroidism and take synthroid and desicated thyroid daily. I am diabetic as well on Metformin Though not always compliant. I sometimes forget to take my pills. My cholesterol is also VERY high and I try to remember to take my Gemfibrozil twice a day for that. I have acyclovir pills and cream for outbreaks of the herpes. but over the last months I have had itchy peeling action on my labia. There are no lesions, but even directly after bathing and washing the area well I find the skin to be peeling, little balls of peeling skin in the folds of my labia, especially around the hood. It looks like finely shredded parmesian cheese. There is no odor just persistent itch. also I have been suffering from a candida type infection around the corners of my mouth and at the groin (not vaginally) where the inner thigh meets at the panty line. Nystatin cream has been keeping that at bay, but it has not entirely healed up.
The itching is driving me crazy!! suggestions??

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the itching is related to a reaction to a chemical agent that is coming into contact with the area.
This would include any creams, lotions, soaps, detergents that you may be using.

You may want to review any changes that you may have made in these agents and also consider the application of a mild steroid cream to reduce the inflammation.

I hope this helps
