PCOS, TTC, Taken Metformin, Ovulation Induction Done, Had Periods With Minimal Flow, Fleshy Thing In Urine. Cause Of Failure?

Hi doctor i have been trying to conceive since last 2 yrs,am married for 31/2yrs now.I was diagnoesd to have PCOS and im taking metformin 250mg thrice daily since august 2012.after 4 months of ovulation induction and natural way of trying to get pregnant,i had done an IUI on the 31st of jan 2013.I was started on progestrone 200mg twice daily with semibrome 1hs.during this i had 2-3 episodes of dizziness,dry mouth and frequent urination ,to which my doctor said it is bcos of the medicines im taking.now i have got my periods today but with very minimal flow.now,while passing urine i flushed myself and found some fleshy thing.Just want to know whether i had conceived and if yes can u please tell me the probable reason for this failure...thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for your query. As you had done your IUI on jan 31st, from your symptoms its very unlikely that you were pregnant. And the fleshy mass could be just a blood clot. The urinary problem could be just due to UTI, and the probable cause failure could be any reason, from implantation failure to procedure failure. Pregnancy rates with IUI is 15-20%, bust subsequent IUI cycles, the pregnancy rates increases upto 50-60%.
