Hello Monika,
Welcome to Healthcare magic forum.
Romilast 4 contains a chewable nonsteroid pill called monteleukast a leukotriene antagonist, which is for decreasing inflammation and swelling.
Romilast L 4 contains in addition to monteleukast another anti allergen drug called levocetrizine.
Together these drugs affects the immunity of the child in such a way that his body doesn't hyperreact in response to allergy or infection causing colds. The severity and frequency of cough cold may reduce . However these do not cure any infection so if the child still gets an attack of cough cold you should consult his doctor for symptomatic treatment .
If your doctor has evaluated the child and prescribed this medication it's for decreasing and preventing his frequent cough colds and you may go ahead with it.
In addition you may follow these simple tips for added benefit.
1.Avoid or minimise your childs exposure to dust , smoke, pollen, pet animal hairs , house hold dust etc.
2 Wash his hands and face frequently after returning from outdoors, like after travelling, after school , after play etc.
3.Use warm saline gargles, saline nose drops and steam inhalations thrice daily whenever the first symptoms of cold begin. These may provide relief and help in faster recovery.
4.Vaccinate your child with pneumococcal vaccine available with your pediatrician to protect against bacterial infections of the respiratory system.
Hope this information is helpful to you.
Wishing your son good health forever.
Regards
