Pain And Bleeding During Intercourse, Sciatica, Urinary Incontinence And Edema. Colposcopy & Biopsy Reveals Abnormality. Cancer?
I just recently found out that I had a abnormal result from a biopsy that was taken from a colposcopy. The gyno that I am seeing has told me to wait until May of next year to renew my Pap smear but I have so many symptoms that scream out cervical cancer like abnormal bleeding after sex and between periods, pain during intercourse, pain that goes down the back of my legs on my ciatic nerve, leaking of urine and swollen legs. And I know that I have a fibroid also. So I was wondering what u think I should do because I feel that I do not want to wait until I have to renew the Pap smear.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms you are xperiencing. There are many other possible causes of bleeding after sex like infections, trauma, etc beside cancer. I will suggest that you go in for the evaluation of the symptoms you are experiencing right now. This will of course require examining the cervix and any need for further testing would be done. There is no point in waiting till may 2014 to get answers to ongoing problems.
If you hadn't any symptoms, I would have said wait because abnormal results are often controlled after 6-12months depending on findings and this is probably what your doctor planned fro you. With these symptoms, you need to be evaluated and managed accordingly.
