hello my husband is having pain and swelling in his left testical. there is a hard rock like in there too. the penius is also swollen some and he is having pain in his ower back. Our family doctor called in a perscription of antibiotics for him but he is still having fever and chills. I am using the ice packs on his testicals and aheating bottle for his back what else can I do for him to ease his pain. he is 62
Swelling of scrotum with pain, fever and chills indicates that your husband is having either an infection of Testes (orchitis) or Epididymis( epididymitis). Fever and chills may occur with filariasis epididymitis and Orchitis due to STD causes. Blood and urine investigations will help to fix the diagnosis. Appropriate treatment will alleviate your husband's problem. As you described that your penis also swollen. Then we have to think of something superficial pertained skin and subcutaneous tissue like cellulitis. A physician will examine and able to fix the diagnosis. Wish you a speedy recovery. Dr S.Murugan
