Pain In Chest On Right Side. Started Exercise Recently. Cause Of Pain?
I am an otherwise healthy, active 60-year old man. Recently, I decided I wanted to get more fit ... so upped my normal exercise program ... to include more heart-elevating activities such as running hills, a bicycle spin glass at my local gym and swimming. I felt fine yesterday while running hills; however, today I am experiencing pain in my chest on the right side. Inevitably suppose, it has me wondering about the symptoms of heart attack. What would they be?
If you had pain in the right side of your chest, it is unlikely to be an heart attack because a heart attack presents with left sided pain. Also, exercise can cause you to get muscle strain which will present in the same way. If you were able to continue exercising after the pain, it means that it is unlikely to be anything serious.
But, for safety sake, I recommend that you get an ECG done. This is a simple test and will take 5 minutes but it will do wonders in being able to diagnose the cause of your chest pain.
I hope this helps you.
