Pain In Head Of Penis, Worst After Urination. Undergoing Treatment For Prostatitis. Suggestions?
I am having a (pressure) pain in the head of my penis, and it seems to be worst right after I urinate. It does not burn when I urinate though. I have been seeing a urologist for several months and have been given numerous tests, including a prostate exam, prostate sonogram, kidney sonogram, and cystoscopy. None have shown anything except for some inflammation between my bladder and prostate. I am being treated for prostatitis but I am not sure if I am being treated correctly. I am currently being given Celebrex.
You may have what they call urethral pain syndrome or chronic pelvic pain syndrome or chronic prostatitis. Basically these syndrome consists of chronic pain that is felt from the bladder or the tip of the penis or the scrotal area. Usually patients are given a trial of antibiotics. Then anti-inflammatory medicines like NSAIDs being used to decrease pain and bring down inflammatory substanes in the prostate.
Everything is experimental at these point in time and clinical trials are underway to treat these hard to treat conditions. I hope i was able to answer your question and give light to your condition.
