Pain In Lower Left Jaw, Molars. Surgery Done To Remove Wisdom Teeth. Treatment?

The surgical procedure for removal of impacted teeth is painful.
However, taking painkillers, hot fomentation and saline rinses help to relieve the pain and the swelling associated with the surgical procedure.
As you have described that you are suffering from throbbing pain, it indicates that there is some kind of infection in the wound.
This could be due to infection in the suture or infection in the wound.

Please visit your dental surgeon and get the wound examined.
In case of pus or infection a course of antibiotics may be required.
If pus accumulation is present it may have to be drained out.

Some times during wisdom tooth extraction lot of bone cutting has to be done. In that case it takes lot of time to heal.
From your symptoms it looks like that it is just a pain after surgery as sometimes healing takes long. Healing depends on type of tooth extraction. sometimes extraction is trumatic and lot of bone cutting has to be done and in this case healing takes long. Pain after tooth extraction can be there upto 2-3 weeks. So there is nothing to worry if there is no acute pain or swelling. Try to maintain good oral hygiene and do warm saline rinses 3-4 times day. Avoid eating from that side so that socket can be kept clean and food lodgement is not there. Donot forget to take your medicines regularly.

Pain after wisdom tooth extraction is common. This occurs as a result of inflammation caused by the extraction procedure itself. The intensity and duration of pain gradually reduce and disappears.

However if some amount of bone was removed then the post-operative pain or if there is some wound contamination the pain may persist. One can have some amount of swelling and fever with these conditions. You have not reported any swelling or fever. Let me know if you have some amount of swelling which is gradually increasing or if you develop fever.

You may continue Diclomol for two more days and hopefully your pain should subside. In addition icing the part might give added benefits. If the pain persists or any of the aforementioned symptoms arises, it warrants attention by your doctor to rule out localised infection.

Pain after tooth extraction can be there up to three to four weeks.

there is nothing to worry if there is no acute pain or swelling.

Try to maintain good oral hygiene and do warm saline rinses 3-4 times. take semi solid diet and plenty of fluids . your diet should be nutritious too. so that healing is faster.

don't do forceful mouth rinsing or vigorous brushing.

Thank you for the query.
Throbbing pain present after the extraction of impacted teeth suggests of presence of infection at the extracted site or a non healing socket which has developed dry socket .
This can be treated by irrigating the area with betadine and saline followed by zincoxide eugenol pack application . this should be followed by a course of antibiotic and analgesics.
Get an x-ray done and see your dentist to rule out the exact cause for the pain .
