Pain In The Left Upper Groin Area After Difficult Pregnancies

Hello, I'm just wondering about a pain I'm experiencing in my left maybe upper groin area? I had a c-section almost three years ago, after a difficult pregnancy. I developed pre-eclampsia, and then eclampsia, and HELP syndrome, and they had to take my baby two months early. My scar has always seemed strange to me, it has always had strange sensations. For a while, it felt like there was something vibrating inside of me, and at it's worst it was happening maybe every half hour, and then it disappeared completely, but has now been replaced by a kind of burning pain. Just wondering if I should be go to the hospital or something. Unfortunately, at this time I do not have insurance, so I don't want to go unless absolutely nessacary.

Hi,

I understand that you had undergone a lot during pregnancy. Preeclampsia, eclampsia and help are all serious complications and you must be glad that you have come out of all this trouble.
However the surgery is a cesarean section and the procedure of the surgery remains almost the same with some modifications depending upon case to case so it is unlikely that the surgery was anything different and resulted in these symptoms. It would help to know if the scar is a vertical scar or a low horizontal scar just above your pubic bone [this is the commonly practised one nowadays].

For every surgery the surgeon needs to cut the tissue to gain access inside. Thus invariably some tissue damage results. Sometimes nerves are injured and these injuries are unavoidable as they are a part of the surgical procedure. This leads to peculiar sensations in scars. Sometimes the nerves heal completely while at other times they don't so the sensations remain.

Sometimes neurological issues arise from traumatic illness experiences and cause such symptoms.

I suggest that you check to see if the scar is allright, is there any discharge from it, is there any rash around it, press hard to see if there is any underlying lump. If yes then infections may cause it. Burning pain may be due to many reasons common ones being herpes and vitamin B12 deficiency.

You have been having these peculiar sensations since three years so I do not believe there is an emergency right now if the above features are not present and symptoms not severe. You may wait till you get your insurance and then see the doctor. If the symptoms are severe you may need to see the doctor urgently.

Hope I was able to help you.
