ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It is better to meet an ENT specialist at your area for a thorough clinical examination. However, if you have a long waiting list and other factors preventing you from acccessing the doctor, here is something you can consider. Your symptoms could be suggestive of acid reflux disease. The acid from stomach enters through a loose sphincter in your oesophagus up to your throat causing throat pain, cough and bitter sensation in mouth. If that is the scenario, please try these methods.

Avoid stress, smoking, too much coffee, tea and spicy foods. Eat frequent and small foods. Keep a gap of two hours between your last meal and time you go to bed. Try over the counter available anti acidity medicines for a week. See if this helps.

Sreenivasan
