Pain In The Throat While Talking. Throat Irritation. Cause?

My wife has a troat disorder. She is feeling a pain whenever she talks too much or loud. Whenever this happens, the pain sometimes goes to her ears and chest. If she do not talk, then no pain. Her voice did not change, No swelling is seen, No coughing up blood, No pain while eating. But she feels that someting is in her troat. Please advise.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Thanhs for writing to H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding throat pain of your wife specially on talking too much or speaking loudly while her other activities related to throat are normal.

Keeping this in view she may be having laryngitis (involving cricoarytenoid joints).

This may be treated by-

(a) Anti inflammatory & analgesic tab.

(b) Steam inhalation.

I hope this will help her , but if even after this she had pain than thorough examination by ENT specialist will be necessary for further treatment.

Regards.
