Pain In Throat, Along The Side Of Tongue, Jaws. Biopsy Suggested. Recommendations?
Strangely I have been attending many dentists regarding my teeth over some time pain along the side of tongue. The dentist I saw to day wants me to go directly for a biopsy at the Dental hospital. Pain also under inside of jaw and down the throat, painful to drink or eat all on the right side. Many years ago injured my face and jaw in a fall the upper right tooth broke I think I swallowed it. I think all of these symptoms caused by my tongue being ripped off my worn down teeth. The white craters are under the right side of tongue, I have been complaining of this for ages but it is impossible for me to see. My neck is also affected

Your clinical history and symptoms suggest that accidental trauma had resulted in sore and painful tongue.
Numbness of tongue and facial pain on right side can be due to injury and irritation to the facial nerve on that side.
White craters on the right side of tongue can be due to ulcerations, fungal infections,fibrosis of tissue due to trauma,infections may develop into malignancies that can be confirmed by visual examination.
I would suggest you to consult to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon,
Take an OPG x-ray, exact diagnosis can be made on visual examination of the area and pathological report of the biopsy, OPG report will confirm the diagnosis.
You can go for a symptomatic treatment at home by regular mouthrinsing with antiseptic mouthwash like betadine or simply lukewarm saline water.
Maintain a good oral hygiene, Drink lots of water and keep yourelf hydrated,
avoid alcohol, carbonated drinks and smoking as it may worsen the condition.

your history suggests that you have white craters under the right side of tongue,that could be due to many reasons like sharp edges of surrounding teeth,oral candidal infection due to poor oral hygiene,any malignancy.
it is nice that your dentist has advised for biopsy,just wait for its results.meanwhile get your sharp edged teeth well grounded,so that further damage can be prevented.
use chlorhexidine mouthwash for 15 days to prevent further infection.

PAIN in throat and tongue may be due to pericoronitis of impacted widom tooth/deep dental caries.
Sharp edges and traumatised tooth also can cause this.
Take fluids and nutritious rich diet.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
Brush and floss your tongue and teeth daily.
Vitamin supplements,iron,folic acid can be taken.
Steroids can be administered.
Hope this helps.

You are advised to visit your doctor/neurosurgeon/neurophysician and get tests like MRI, CT scan, endoscopy and electromyography to see detailed picture of causative factor.
