Pain On Swallowing, Yellow Spot With Red Ring On Tonsils. Strep Throat Test Negative. Treatment?
Hi, I have had pain when I swallow for the past couple of days. It s not strep throat , I was tested for that. On one of my tonsils, I have a yellow spot with a red ring around it. I think it might be a a cold sore , but I ve never had one on my tonsils before. Is that what it is? What can I do to stop the pain and make it go away?
Hello dear...
Presence of yellow spot with red ring in the tonsils suggests that you might be having Acute Tonsillitis.
Management consists of:
1. Gargle with warm salt water to relieve throat pain.
2. Analgesics like paracetamol
3. Antibiotics like amoxicillin to remove the causative organism of Tonsillitis.
So...it will be better to meet an ENT specialist & start the treatment.
There is no need to worry...you will be perfectly fine.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks & take care
