Painful Boils On Thigh, Red With Puss Inside. Delivered A Baby By Normal Procedure. Taking Antibiotics. Normal?
I got a baby boy last fortnight by normal procedure, but now from last two day i have developed some boils on my thigh all over and it is so painful, they are red and come of them have puss in them. i consulted a physician and he gave me some antibiotic (Amoxycciline). please advise me should i see some Dermatologist or it is normal?

Boils have no correlation with normal delivery. These are bacterial infection of hair follicles and is common in moist warm hairy areas of body. Chances increase during low immunity phase and if proper hygiene is not maintained.
Treatment for boils requires a course of oral antibiotic like amoxycillin along with warm water compresses of the area followed by an antibacterial cream application like fusidic acid.if the lesions are painful you any take a pain killer too.
I would always encourage a visit to dermatologist because what appears to be boils could be lesions of herpes zoster too. Multiple painful boil like lesions could be herpes zoster and treatment involves oral antivirals
