Painful Breasts, Cloudy Vaginal Discharge, Diarrhea, Body Aches, Discharge From Nipples After Using Mirena. Should I Be Worried?
I'm 5' 112 lbs age 20 been on Mirena for over a year and a half. Still getting my period the entire time. The past few months the side effects have been more noticeable but not until this month has it been unmanageable. They are very strong, constant fatigue, heavy and painful breasts, cloudy vaginal discharge, diarrhea, body aches, discharge from nipples and the inside of my vaginal walls has changed to the point my partner of over 10 months has noticed as well as occasional discomfort during intercourse. I received my period just under 4 weeks ago and i'm usually on 3-4 week schedule (unpredictable even on Mirena) so i'm wondering if i should wait or go in to get a check up or if this is something that could be a problem either something gone wrong with mirena or possibly pregnancy even on a bc. Please help. thank you.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The symptoms that you have are related to the progesterone release from the coil. All these are the common side effects and are usually self limiting. These will subside in few weeks. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
