Painful To Remove Skin Embedded In Foot. Planter Callous Or Verruca?

Not sure if I have planter callous or verruca? I have read differences but still unclear. When it's softened I usually scrap skin away at first, then I pick it away, my apologies it's disguisting I know. After doing this there's a root like hole in my foot. It can get very painful removing the skin as its queit embedded in my foot? it eventually grows back. I now without realising it have started to crunch up my left 2nd,3rd,&4th toes whilst walking to combat against the discomfort of walking on it. I am a nurse and 12hour shifts of continuous walking do not help. Also I walk really fast continously at work. I have ?same callous or verruca on right planter foot so I need to sort it out before I start scrunching my right toes up too. Please help my feet look their young age not the geriatric age they feel. Alma
