Hi, in the section of both my hands ( inside by the base of the thumbs) I have a patch of dry skin . On the right hand by at the base of the thumb it actually has a crack that is open but not red or bleeding . It is atually very dry! Also, in line coming down my pinky finger and on the palm of the hand is about a nickel size patch of dry skin. Nothing I use seems to help these patches . Any suggestions.
From the history provided, it seems you have either palmar psoriasis or palmar eczema. Meet your dermatologist to help you.
Try to follow the following:
1) Apply vaseline petroleum jelly twice a day on your hands, preferably on wet skin
2)Use very mild soap for hand wash and bath
3) Avoid hand contact with raw fruits and vegetables, chemicals, heavy oils, grease, irritants, spices, etc.
4) Do not use very hot water for bath or hand wash.
Hope this helps you.
