Pelvic And Trans Vaginal Ultrasound Shows The Presence Of A Heterogeneous Nodule. Ovarian Cancer?

i just got my result for a US PELVIC AND TRANSVAGINAL ULTASOUND. THE DOCTOR ORDERED ME TO GET AN MRI BUT ONLY EXPLAINED TO ME THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF ENDOMETRIAL POLYP AND MASS. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IS WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN?? THE COPY OF THE ULTRASOUND SAYS...THE PRESENCE OF A HETEROGENEOUS NODULE IS NOTED IN THE ENDOMETRIAL CAVITY WHICH MEASURES 2.2 CM IN LENGTH BY 1.0CM AP BY 2.6 CM IN TRANSVERSE DIMENSIONS. THIS IS MOST CAMOPATIBLE WITH A LARGE POLYP AND RECOMMEND SONOHYSTEROGRAM OR PERLVIC MRI. MY QUESTION IS........IS THIS A SIGN OF OVARIAN CANCER???????

Hi!
thanks for posting query!
your transvaginal and pelvic USG report says that there is an endometrial polyp .This is NOT a sign of ovarian cancer.
An endometrial polyp or uterine polyp is a mass in the inner lining of the uterus. They may have a large flat base (sessile) or be attached to the uterus by an elongated pedicle (pedunculated). They range in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters.
Endometrial polyps are usually benign only some 0.5 % may be precancerous or cancerous.
hope your query is answered.take care!
