Period Is Late. Had Unprotected Sex. What Tablet Should I Take To Abort?

hi,

I am riya, 28 yrs, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on 20th march and my periods did not come at usual date (1st april) and today is 4th april. I doubt to be pregnant. I need some tablet to avoid pregnancy, i can not go to visit a doctor because my family wont allow me. Kindly tell me the tablet name which is easily available in delhi medical stores.

Hello,

First of all, you should undergo one home pregnancy test with urine to confirm or exclude pregnancy. Repeat test may be needed. There are several other reasons of late period besides pregnancy.

Without confirmation of pregnancy, it is not recommended to take any type of abortion pills which may cause serious adverse effect.

Following test report, you need to consult with doctor for next line management. Abortion pill should be taken under supervision of doctor to avoid unnecessary excessive vaginal bleeding which you can't control yourself at home.

In case of negative test, progesterone pill can help to induce period. Practice safe sex in future to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
