Periodically Getting Small Bumps On Elbows. Swelling, Itching On Scratching. What Are They?
Periodically I get these little bumps on my elbows sometimes its just one elbow or the other or both .. As long as I don t scratch them they are ok but if I do they swell up and itch more and turn red of course . They stay for about a week maybe before they go away maybe longer sometimes .. Thought maybe it could be a form of psoriasis but it doesn t look quite as bad as that .. Can you help me?
hi..thanks for your query.
From what you mention, it definitely does not look like psoriasis. It is possible that the elbows might be coming in contact with something which produces a contact allergy /urticaria .You can have oral anti histaminics for sometime and apply a topical corticosteriod for a week.
If they still persist or the recurrences are very frequent , you should consult a dermatologist to find a definite cure.
Hope this helps.Take care!
