Persistent Cough After Giving Up Smoking Is Cause For Concern?
I am 25 years old and I have been smoking on and off since I was 17 years old. I had long breaks in between my smoking phases including one year a few times and six months other times. I had about 7 or 8 cigarettes yesterday, and decided to stop. I have been coughing non stop for a few days though. Is this cause for concern?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the cough symptom that you have could be because of smoking only, if I would be your treating physician then I would treat this case with Dextromethorphan and Guaifenesin with advise to get done the x-ray chest, hope this information helps.
