Persisting Chest Infection Not Getting Cured By Antibiotics. Coughing Up Phlegm With Blood. Tender Spot On The Neck. Have Asthma
i have had a chest infection for about a month now with no relief with anti biotics.i have a cough and bring up phlem which sometimes has a little bit of blood in it. i also have a tender spot above my breast bone just below the neck, when i press on it.will it be related to an infection? i am due to have a chest xray next wednesday.could it be i have asthma because we have a very fluffy cat?
Hey. Thanks for writing at HCM. This picture can't be with asthma. But being close with a pet could lead to certain illnesses which can go undetected unless told specifically about it. Have you told your physician about the pet? This looks more likely a case of lung infection. The tender spot above your collar bone could be an inflamed lymph node or a lump in the neck. I'd suggest you to get the X ray of chest done and get culture sensitivity of the sputum done too to know which antibiotic would suit you best. Hope this helps you. Take care.
