Piece Of Metal In Toe Was Pulled Out. Cluster Of Spots Itchy And Uncomfortable. Remedy?

Hi, I'm only just 13 years of age, and a few days ago I had a small staple like piece of metal in my toe like a splinter but I pulled it out, and it felt a little irritated but went away, along the bridge of my right big toe, it felt a little itchy so looked at it and I have a small cluster of spots that are very itchy and uncomfortable when touched, I've tried to research into it but there was no luck to be found , I hope you can help as soon as possible because I'm becoming highly concerned about it spreading , and it's keeping me awake worrying,

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The splinter in your toe should have been removed under aseptic precautions and an antiseptic cream or bandage wrapped around it. You should have taken a tetanus toxoid shot if you are not already immunized.

There may be some infection in the area and it is best if you can consult a doctor and take a course of antibiotics. The risk to infection is more because injury is from a metal splinter and it might be rusted.

Keep the wound clean and do not try to scratch it with your nail or any sharp object even if it gets itchy.
