Pimple Inside Nose, Swelling After Popping. Used Neosporin, Swelling In Face. Remedy?

Hi, I had a pimple inside my nose a couple of days ago (near the bottom of the nostril) and tried to pop it. It popped but it swelled up and got very red. And it s gotten pretty bad. I use hot water to help ripen it but the opening seems to let out puss a little bit and then dry up. I used neosporin on the opening last night and I woke up today with the entire right side of my face swollen. At the moment, the nostril is completely swelled up. I m taking benadryl right now, any other suggestions? (besides going to a doctor, already made an appt)

HI and thanks for the query.

Appears that your constant manipulation of this pimple caused an infection which has spread locally and now resembles cellulitis. I think it is a good idea having booked an appointment. Treatment is pretty straight forward with antibiotics(systemic) and pain medications. Ice packs would also offer some relief.

For now, avoid touching any more and go in as soon as possible seen that itis located on the face of esthetic importance to us.

Hope you find this helpful and informative. If you have ore questions, we'v got answers. Keep them coming.
I wish you the best of health.

Welcome to HCM.PImples and boils in the mask area(the area of the face covered by a surgical mask)are potentially dangerous and are usually due to a bacterial infection by Staphylococcus Aureus/Streptococci.They should be treated promptly with good antibiotics (preferably active against beta-lactamase producing staph) like Amoxicillin-Clauvinic Acid combination apart from analgesics and other drugs as required.Squeezing/crushing pimples in this area is a no-no,infection may go to the brain which is very near through the cribriform area.
