Pimple Like Bump With Pus Under Lower Lip That Is Painful And Swollen. How Can One Treat It?

Hi,

I had a pimple like bump with pus on skin under lower lip,it is painful and because of it my lip swollen and it is kind of tender, can you please advice me what it could be and how to treat?
On the day i got this that area was itchy. I had the same thing 4 to 5 months ago and i took abriva it went away after 4 days.

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to Folliculitis.
It occurs due to infection/inflammation of hair follicles.

Management includes:
1. Application of topical antiseptic ointment.
2. Topical antibiotics such as neomycin ointment
3. Analgesic & anti-inflammatory agents for symptomatic relief.

If it persists or recurs, kindly get certain investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood glucose level to rule out any pathological cause.
One more thing...please avoid squeezing the bump, as it will aggravate it further.
