Pimple On Left Eyebrow, Swelling, Redness, Pain, Coming In Line Of Vision. Warm Compress Helped. Suggestion?

Hello,

About a week ago, I noticed what I thought then was a pimple developing at the lateral tip of my left eyebrow. I'm prone to acne so I thought little of it and continued with my normal regimen of face washing with mild soap and daily application of Differin gel and Duac topical (a combo of benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin). The pimple became slightly larger over a course of two to three days but had no other unusual characteristics. Yesterday I began to notice some swelling accompanying the pimple's gradual increase in size. Today it has progressed further with noticeable swelling, to the point that I can now see the lower border of my left brow in my line of vision. Along with the swelling, I also observe the other cardinal signs of inflammation: redness, pain, and warmth. I've applied warm compresses in an attempt to bring it to a head, which worked to a small degree. I was able to drain some pus, but that was quickly followed by blood. And it has only grown in size since that failed attempt. FYI, my left eye seems uninvolved at this point; I don't have any eye pain or appreciable changes in vision quality. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

Welcome to health care magic and thank you for asking your query.

In my opinion it is a boil developing into an abscess.
I would suggest the following.
1. Do not apply warmth. Rather apply ice wrapped in cloth to limit inflammation and swelling.
2. Start antibiotic. Tab Augmentin 625 mg,three times a day for 3-5 days.. Consult your doctor as well.
3. Tab Diclofenac for pain and inflammation.

I hope this helps.
