Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Seems to be a local bacterial infection of Hair follicle(folliculitis/furuncle).

If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical antibacterial ointment like 2% mupirocin twice daily

A week of oral antibiotics (penicillin group) is also advisable if the infection is deep seated.

An OTC painkiller like ibuprofen SOS will help you contain the pain.

take care
regards
