Pimples. Using Acne Liquid Cleanser Facewash, Doxycycline Capsules. Change Of Treatment Required?
i am 23 years old.i never had pimples before until a year ago wen during my final exams i started to break out.it has been 6 months and i still break out.im using acne aid liquid cleanser facewash and i started doxycycline 100mg capsules twice a day 3 weeks ago.should i start some other medication or change my facewash??pls advice

Hi,
Doxycycline is a part of acne treatment and is usually given twice or once daily.
Face wash is also a part of therapy but which face wash is to be used is important.
Acne treatment contains multiple drug therapy depending upon your acne status.
It will be better for you to take medication after consultation with a dermatologist.

Hi,
According to Ayurveda, Acne is believed to be from Pitta dosha aggravation and it happens due to the excessive intake of alcohol, tea, coffee, spicy, oily and fried foods,stress, tension, pollution and chemicals.
The treatment of acne at your age is bit of a challenge as i believe your age is most vulnerable to the causes sited above and removal of the cause is half the battle won.
Management of Stress and high fibre diet helps regulate the hormones.These hormones are deactivated and eliminated from circulation by liver.So enhancing liver's function with triphala, cumin -ginger-long pepper, black radish helps addressing the underlying hormonal dysregulation, to balance the ratio of estrogen:progesterone:testosterone.
External application of natural antiseptics like turmeric, margosa mixed in bases used for skin cleaning like fullers earth, sandal, red lentil powder is one of the natural remedy
Drinking lots of fluids and cleaning the face with plain water 3 times a day helps keeping the internal and external body clean.
