Plunging Ranula, Removed. Why Is There Swelling Now?
Hi, I have a plunging ranula that I did have surgery on years ago but not all of it could be removed. I normally never have any problems with it and it almost never swells but lately it has happened twice in the last month. I was wondering if certain heavy beers could cause this? This happened both times the day after having dark seasonal beers.
you are right if you can corelate and found that it swallows after beers
it is right
any thing can cause swelling in previously treated condition
so this is you judgement
stop beers and see results

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Sudhir's Response
Hello,
Thanks for the question.
Possible cause of symptoms is recurrence.I think it is coincidental that you got it after drinking beer.
I guess you should bring this to notice of your doctor.
Regards.
