Positive For Herpes. Taking Phenazopyridine And Ciprofloxacin. Is It The Right Treatment For Herpes?
my ex wife contacted me saying she tested positive for herpes after leaving me and she is taking phenazopyridine and ciprofloxacin, are those something that would be prescribed for herpes? I have already been tested and found clean but a friend of mine whose husband she slept with is concerned because he swears he doesn t have herpes and refuses to get tested and i told her the meds my ex is on and she claims that there is no way she could have herpes on those medications, could it be possible that the two medications could help treat the symptoms of herpes even though i know they could not cure or remove the herpes virus
No, These drugs are prescribed for bacterial infection of urinary tract and not for herpes. Herpes infection is a viral infection and is treated with drugs like acyclovir. Phenazopyridine helps relieve pain during passage of urine in urinary tract infection (UTI) and ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic most commonly used to treat bacterial UTI.
Thanks
