Possibility Of Reflux In Throat , What Treatment Is Advisable ?
Hi. My partner and I have both had ear nose and throat problems for a while now. Antibiotics only work for short time and then symptoms are back. I gave had sinus issues and main one is constantly having to clear the throat especially when talking. Doctors say it is reflux but I think that us too much if coincidence for both of us to have that I feel it is a bug of some kind. I have had a test on a physio spec machine, I think I have name right, and that apparently showed I gad kingella kingae but doc won't test for it. My partner was in Indonesia recently and felt worse so got a course of Zithromax and feels better. What do you think?
Throat and ears problem are usually caused by bacterial infection. Usually antibiotics intake helps. However once you have an ear infection, it is easier to get another one because sometimes it is very hard to eradicate bacteria from ears. It is also possible that acid reflux or enlarged adenoids can trigger such infection.
I suggest you to visit laryngologist who should take a look at your throat and adenoid. For acid reflux diagnostics, gastroscopy is necessary. Please also try to put head a little bit higher when sleeping and do not eat 2 hours before sleeping.
Hope this will help. Regards.
