Post Menopausal Woman. Getting Done Regular Mammograms Since Age 40. Is It Required This Year?

Hi;
I'm a post-menopausal woman aged 62 with no history of breast cancer in my family. I've familiar with the recommendations by the USPSTF and the American Cancer Society for mammogram frequency. I'm undecided as to whether I should have a mammogram this year. I would appreciate your advice/opinions regarding this subject. I've had mammograms every year since age 40. Thank you.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Since you are getting regular mammograms with normal results every year, you can decrease the frequency to once every one and a half years if there are no breast related symptoms.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Rakhi-Tayal
