Post Surgery Having Running Nose, Swelling In Palate. Worried?

Just had an all on four procedure done 4 days ago. Today (the 4th day post surgery) my nose started running. All clear liquid. I have a swelling on the right side of my palate as well & wonder if that has anything to do with the runny nose problem! I have been out walking & doing things with friends and have no pain, but the runny nose is worrisome.

Hello,

Welcome to health care magic forum.

Thanks for writing to us.

From the details mentioned, its not clear that what type of surgery have you undergone.

Runny nose can be due to allergic rhinitis.

Usually,Cetirizine is administered in such cases.

The cause of swelling palate has to be evaluated and drain the absces.

Associated tooth ,if decayed has to be extracted or root canal treated.

If there is periodontal infection, deep scaling as well as curettage has to be done.

Meanwhile,maintain oral hygiene well.

To prevent underlying infection,Amoxycillin has to be administered.

Hope this helps.
