Postpartum, Clitoris Feels Sensitive And Irritated
I am 7 days postpartum, and my clitoris feels sensitive and irritated, and think some swelling/pressure too. I did not have an episiotomy , and had 2 small peri-urethral tears and one 2nd degree tear inside my vagina on the side closest to my rectum . My clitoris is more uncomfortable than anything else right now. Is this normal, and is there anything I can do to relieve it?
Thanks for writing to us.
After a vaginal delivery with a second degree vaginal tar and paraurethral tears, tenderness around clitoris is expeced. You can take a miold pain killer like acetaminophen and do a hot fomentation in the area for relief. Taking prophylactic antibiotics will be helpful in preventing infection after consulting your gynecologist.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
