Pregnant. Done Ultrasound, Fetal Pole And Sac Detected, No Heart Beat. Is That Normal?
Hello,
My wife, she just found out that she is pregnant. LMP 5 Aug. So she is approx 4-5 weeks right now. She works in xray so the radiologist had done her ultrasound (transabdominally only) and he says that there is a sac and a small, what appears to be a fetal pole. No heartbeat detected. This was late last week.
Yesterday, she had a cooworker who is a qualified sonographer check on the pregnancy's progress. She did an endovaginal scan and told my wife that she did even see a sac? What do you make of this? She has an appointment to see her doctor on 18 Sept, but we are really scared/nervous.
Anxious and worried. We haven't had our first child yet.
It is too early to detect fetal heart beat through abdominal scan. Do one TVS scan after 1- 2 weeks. Fetal Heart beat is detected around 6 to 7 wk through TVS scan. Kindly, consult with your doctor regarding this. Good luck.
