Pregnant. Extremely Painful, Itchy, Swollen White Rings Inbetween Thumb And Finger On Palm. Suggestions?
HI Im 34 weeks pregnant and just under the bottom of my fingers on my palm and inbetween my thumb and finger is extreamly itchy red and swollen and now white " rings" have show up... my doctor brushed it off but i cant handle the itch... its become so painful and itchy and swollen it hurt to use my hand at times ...any suggestions to what i can do to relieve the itch, even temp? Thank you

Hi,
It seems that you might be having fungal infection between your fingers.
There might be some allergy to soap, washing powder.
Apply triple acting cream.
Keep part dry, particularly after doing cleaning vassels, washing clothes or other works handling with water.
As you are having 34 pregnancy, there is no problem taking some anti-histamin like Cetrizine or Benadryl after consulting your Obst.
If there is infection, take safe antibiotic medicine after consulting your doctor.
Ok and take care.

Your doctor has done you no service - I would consider this moving forward. Imagine when there is a much more severe problem - will they brush you off then too? This could represent eczema or some sort of skin infection. For the itching you can use hydrocortisone cream over the counter, and in the meantime, I would ask for a referral to a dermatologist. Also, inquire with your OB whether they are at all concerned about something called 'cholestasis of pregnancy'.
