Pregnant. Have Had Constipation, Soreness In Anus. Taking Metamucil. On High Fiber Diet.Could Be Thrombosis Hemorrhoid?
I am 36 and pregnant. I have always had constipation issues. I drink 76 oz of water, high fiber diet, andhave metamucil after every meal. I still only have bm every 3 days. My last bm was yesterday after a 4 day lapse. It was hard. Next day, my anus is sore to touch. I checked it out with a flashlight. It does not look like an external hemorrhoid. It's not squishy looking. It is a small, hard purple bump that hurts really bad. I saw pictures of thrombosis hemorrhoid and it doesn't look like that. Help!
Hi, Thanks for writing in. Hemorrhoids are not usually painful & they usually present with bleeding per rectum. More likely diagnosis in your case is a "fissure in ano". This is good to know that you keep yourself well hydrated, take high fiber diet & dietary fiber supplements on regular basis. You should also take some stool softener & local anesthetic to aid healing of this lesion. Please visit a General surgeon for confirmation of diagnosis & to get a prescription. Take care.
