Pregnant. Report Suggests Breech Presentation, Loop Of Cord On Foetal Neck, Heart Rate 153bpm. Need To Worry?
Hi I m 28 week pregnant and yesterday got my usg report .the report suggests breech presentation(what it means or whether its harmful);maturity grade ii( don't know good or bad); a loop of cord seen around the foetal neck ; heart rate 153bpm; placenta anterior, away from os.everything is normal or I have something to worry about please suggest.

Hi,
* breech presentation means the breech of fetus is downwards.Breech presentation is not harmful,except,if it continues same at the time of delevary,you will need sisserian section.
*The cord aroud neck- as the baby moves in amniotic fluid,the cord also changes it's presentation.So,cord around neck is not risky,unless there are labeur pains.
* all other parameters are within normal limits.
So, you need not worry. Just keep in touch with your Obstetrician

no,you should not worry.because till 34-36 weeks baby are in unstable lie.it can change again its lie and spontaneously during movement cord arround neck can be recovered.go for a repeat ultrasound at 36 week.thanks.

You have a breech pregnancy (baby butt down) at 28 weeks. This is not uncommon. The cord around the neck is called a nuchal cord and is of no concern at this point. You need a followup scan at about 36 weeks and if still breech, a discussion of 'turning' the baby. This discussion should include a discussion of the nuchal cord and how this might affect the 'turning'.
