Pregnant, Had Spicy Food, Suffering From Stomach And Back Pain, Blood In Urine. Serious Symptoms?
Hi, doctor. I m XXXXXX and I m a 13 week pregnant..,... I had spicy food yesterday and now I m suffering from stomach ache and back pain .....and I observed a drop of blood while urinating... And I have an urge for urination frequently.....and it s painful while urinating,.... Is there any serious problem....
Hi and thanks for the query,
the urge to urinate frequently and abdominal and back pain are two unrelated problems. Urinary frequency, blood in urine and pain on urination are the classical triad for an acute urinary tract infection, most probably of the bladder called acute cystitis. A urinary deep stick is enough to make a diagnosis. Cultures and sensitivity tests might be used, while awaiting results, your treating physician shall put you on a probabilistic large spectrum antibiotherapy. Drinking a lot of water and fluids during this period is also advisable. The pain in the abdomen is due to gastric irritation and an antiacid should be sufficient in solving the problem. Early and appropriate management of these conditions have certainly very favorable outcomes, but complications might come into play if left for a long time untreated.
I suggest you visit your gynecologist/obstetrician for a proper and timely clinical evaluation and management.
Best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
